Computer Doc

I am personally not a big fan of computers desktop or laptop. However, I have four kids and have taken my kids in for a Dr.'s appointments several times over the last 18 years. Over the last year I have noticed an improvement in the physicians ability to recall my childrens medical history with the aid of their lap-tops now utilized. The Dr. was able to recall temperatures, treatments, drugs and dosages, which seemed to lead to faster diagnosis and decisions on prescription meds. The lap-top seems to be a highly viable and portable tool that aids the physician, thereby decreasing the in office time to some degree. No longer does the doc need to flip through pages of notes and trying to decipher their own handwriting. The information appears legible and in an order that the physician can follow from a triage to out the door care and plan of action. This personal discover really hit home while reading several articles in the computerworld.com web site.
